Three Years of Uplifted: Why We’re Rebranding and What Matters Most
It’s been three years since Uplifted began and we’re taking a moment to pause, reflect, and step into the next chapter with intention.
When Uplifted was created, it wasn’t just about opening a practice. It was about creating a space that could hold complexity - - the kind of emotional and relational pain that often goes misunderstood or minimized, even in therapy. Over the past few years, we've grown in ways I couldn’t have fully imagined, and we’ve remained rooted in what matters most: clarity, safety, attunement, and healing that brings hope.
This rebrand and website launch isn’t about starting over, it’s about realigning with the work we’ve always done and saying it more clearly. We want people to feel seen the moment they land on our site. Whether someone is navigating betrayal trauma, questioning if they have a sexual addiction, or has tried therapy before and felt like something was missing - - our goal is to offer structure, care, and a place to land.
Truthfully, this blog has been a long time coming. Over ten years ago, a client asked me to start writing a newsletter called “Heather’s Thoughts.” I laughed at the time thinking nobody would read that. Recently in the women’s betrayal group, I talked about starting a blog and additional services, one woman in the group stated, “I’m afraid you won’t.” I should have listened to my client 10 years ago. But I’m listening now, and this space is for that kind of wisdom: the quiet nudge, the deep need, the questions that don’t always have easy answers.
This post is also the beginning of something new: a blog series designed to bring education, clarity, and reflection to the real-life experiences people have around betrayal trauma, sexual addiction, relational pain, and recovery. We want to offer more than information — we want to offer language for the things that often go unnamed, and validation for those who feel like they’ve had to figure it out alone. Whether you're a client, a clinician, or somewhere in between, these posts are here to support deeper understanding and meaningful change.
We’d love for this space to be shaped by the people it’s meant to support. If there’s something you’ve been wondering about, struggling with, or trying to make sense of, please let us know. Your questions, experiences, and insights help guide what we write about next. Feel free to reach out, we would love to hear from you!
